Case Study
For obvious reasons, we cannot publicly reveal the name of the IT company we worked for on this project, nor the name of their final customer. We can say that we helped to create an innovative mobile application in the field of tourism.
Initial steps
Definition of initial requirements
We worked in collaboration with the Project Manager of the hiring company to understand the scope of the project and begin to define its functionality.
It was a mobile application that had to be able to run on Android and iOS devices. Plus a web portal to enable hoteliers to manage their accommodation.
It allowed users to request the best offer for a stay in a given geographical area. The hotels concerned had a two-hour window to respond with their best offer, and the user could choose. Hotels were not allowed to check competitors’ prices. Users had to receive all offers at the same time at the end of the two hours.
Tech stack
Based on the required functionality, we chose the appropriate technology stack
Our direct customer company already had in-house resources oriented to the Microsoft/Azure/.Net environment.
We therefore opted for a cross platform solution, using XAML for the app part, with the portal developed in .Net and the whole cloud/backend part based on Azure.
Graphics and logo
We can also be artsy!
To speed up the development process, in addition to the graphics of the application, we also designed a simple, straightforward logo that reflected the idea behind the project.
Agile first!
Sometimes you have to change the rules of the game while you are playing it
All development parts of the project, from graphics to software functionality, were implemented in successive cycles. This gave us the flexibility to adapt to changes in progress, which are physiological in such projects.
It is not uncommon to change one’s mind on a particular system component after the first implementation.
To minimise setbacks, the customer is constantly involved throughout the development phase.
And the winner is…
Once we are done, the product is yours
Once the project was completed and we had provided both the source codes and documentation to our final customer, i.e. the IT company that hired us, we remained available to maintain the software.
Our support was not mandatory, but they preferred to have it for at least a year, but preferred to devote their internal resources to other projects.
As you can see, the process is very straightforward and collaborative. Contact us today to find out how we can contribute to your success!
